From Hostess to Blogger: How My Career Path Led Me to Digital Marketing

From working as a hostess at a café in Kolkata to becoming a blogger, podcaster, and digital marketer, my story is one of growth, discovery, and relentless pursuit of passion. In 2021, I found myself working as a hostess at Throttle Shrottle Moto Café in Kolkata. It was a vibrant place filled with energy, where I met people from all walks of life. My job was to ensure customers had a great experience, from the moment they walked in the door to the time they left. While I enjoyed the work and the lively environment, there was a part of me that yearned for something more—something that would allow me to express my creativity and connect with others on a deeper level.

During this time, I stumbled upon the world of blogging. I had always enjoyed writing, and the idea of sharing my thoughts and experiences with a broader audience intrigued me. I started writing blog posts in my free time, focusing on topics that resonated with me—beauty, fashion, and self-expression. As I poured my heart into each post, I realized that blogging was more than just a hobby; it was a passion.

The Transition: Embracing Blogging and Plus-Size Modeling

As my interest in blogging grew, so did my confidence. Encouraged by friends, particularly my school friend Mitsubi, who became my personal photographer, I began exploring the world of plus-size modeling. This was a bold move, especially in a society where body image is often scrutinized. But I was determined to break the mold and redefine beauty standards.

My blog became a platform for this journey. I shared my experiences, challenges, and victories as a plus-size model, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. People connected with my story, and I found a community of readers who were inspired by my message of self-love and empowerment.

Around the same time, I started experimenting with social media to promote my blog. I quickly realized that to reach a larger audience, I needed to understand how to effectively market myself online. This curiosity led me to delve into the world of digital marketing.

By 2022, I had become deeply immersed in the blogging and modeling worlds. But I knew that to sustain and grow my personal brand, I needed to expand my skill set. That’s when I decided to pursue a career in digital marketing.

Running my own agency has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It allows me to combine my love for blogging and content creation with my skills in digital marketing, all while helping others achieve their business goals. I’ve also continued to grow my personal brand through my blog, podcast, and social media channels, sharing my journey and insights with a broader audience.
